Johns Hopkins University

As we started working together Maya expressed that she wasn’t sure she wanted a BFA since she was interested in data and history so wanted to apply to schools with strong art programs but not necessarily BFA degrees. She did her research and applied to a wide range of small liberal arts colleges and mid sized research universities. After she received numerous acceptances she attended accepted students events to determine which school was her best fit academically, socially and financially.

Much to her surprise Johns Hopkins fit just right as they have excellent data science courses as well as visual art, art history and museum studies which allows her to combine all her interests and receive a degree which has career opportunities that interest her. Her intended course of study includes a major in History of Art, and minors in Museums and Society, and Visual Arts but with all that is available to her at such a fantastic research university another subject could easily capture her attention.

Her mom’s email captured exactly what makes working with students like Maya so rewarding… that we can introduce them to programs they’ve never considered and they end up loving their options!

What a year! Glad we navigated it successfully...
Thanks again for the role you played. JHU wasn’t even on our radar when we started this process for Maya.
